Highmark Delaware Offers $325,000 to Fight Opioid Epidemic

Highmark Delaware has offered $325-thousand to help fight opioid and heroin addiction in Delaware.

The grants are from the BluePrints for Community funds will go to four local organization in their fight against the addiction epidemic.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that the announcement was made by Highmark Delaware President Tim Constantine yesterday at the Clarence Fraim Boys and Girls Club in Wilmington.

Constantine said that it takes more than one organization to fight the addiction epidemic.

aTacK Addition will receive $50-thousand for the drug naloxone that reverses overdoses while the Wilmington Boys and Girls Club will receive $100-thousand in their efforts to prevent and respond to the epidemic.

Another organization Gaudenzia, Inc. will get $75-thousand to help track the rise in addiction.

The Sussex County Health Coalition will receive a $100-thousand.
