$100 Million Upgrade Plans for Delaware City Refinery

pbfenergy.com

A $100 million upgrade for the Delaware City Refinery had been put on the shelf two years ago.

Now, it’s back with the company looking to meet the increased demand for cleaner marine fuels.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that there were hints this week during a conference call between industry analysts and the owner’s top executive.

PBF Energy CEO Tom Nimbley said it was looking at putting in a hydrogen unit in Delaware.

The News Journal said the company confirmed that the project is essentially the same as the upgrade that got the approval of state officials three years ago.
