The Delmarva Shorebirds have a new manager.
He’s Buck Britton who has been serving as the team’s hitting coach since last year.
Britton will replace Ryan Minor during this year season.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Britton played nine seasons at the minor-league level before moving on to coaching in 2017.
In 2008 he was drafted by the Orioles in the 35th round of the Major League Baseball Draft and played in Delmarva for three games in 2009.
He is also the brother of Orioles pitcher Zach Britton who is a two time All-Star and was named American League Reliever of the year in 2016.
The announcement was made at the Shorebird’s Hot Stove Banquet last night.
