BALTIMORE (AP) – Governor Larry Hogan has announced that the state will offer a $100-thousand reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of a Baltimore homicide detective.
Police Commissioner Kevin Davis announced yesterday that officer Sean Suiter had died of a gunshot wound to the head after conducting an investigation into a 2016 homicide on the west side of Baltimore.
Davis also said another reward has been offered for information on the killer totaling $69-thousand.
The 43-year-old Suiter was shot on Wednesday when he saw a man whom he recognized.
As he approached him Suiter was shot in a confrontation with the man.
Davis says that the suspect may also have been sounded.
Suiter is an 18 year veteran of the force and a former naval officer.
He was also a father of five.
