Dudley-Eshbach Proud of Accomplishments at Salisbury University

Don Rush

After 18 years at Salisbury University President Janet Dudley-Eshbach will step down at the end of June next year.

Dudely-Eshbach said it was time for a change adding that change was good for both individuals and institutions.

She said,”It is emotional for me. I’ve shed a few tears. And the reason for that is I love this place. This for me has been a dream job. I love the people here. There’s no better place to live. And, I love the Eastern Shore. So, it’s been emotional for me.”

She said she was obviously proud of the expansion of the university which now has nearly 9-thousand students.

In addition, she noted the large number of buildings that have been built ranging from the Perdue School of Business to the Academic Commons.

Above all she felt that a sense of community both on and off campus was one of her key achievements.

During a one year sabbatical she will serve as an advisor through the transition as well as working on fund raising and other special projects.

She will then return to the faculty to be involved in the  Spanish language department.
