youtube

The second day of the trial for three juveniles in the death of Amy Joyner-Francis saw testimony from faculty members who said they heard screams from the second-floor bathroom of the Howard High School of Technology.

The Wilmington News Journalreports that one teacher Ursula McCoy said she held the teenager as she struggled to breathe in the final moments of life.

Among the 20 girls who watched the fight, the News Journal reports that at least two had video which showed 17 year-old Trinity Carr hitting the victim’s head and torso as Joyner-Francis clutched her purse on the floor.

The paper reports that another student intervened and as Carr moved away Joyner-Francis apparently clutched at Carr’s shirt as the fight ended.

Authorities say that Joyner-Francis had a heart condition and died of sudden cardiac arrest as a result of the beating.

The first day of the trial featured testimony about increasing tensions that resulted in the fight.

The three teenage girls are being tried as juveniles.
