Ethical Question for Architect of MD Medical Marijuana Law

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A business group is holding a panel discussion on Maryland's developing medical marijuana industry.

The Greater Baltimore Committee is holding the panel in Baltimore Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the General Assembly's Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics is scheduled to meet later in the day.

Some have questioned the role of Del. Dan Morhaim, who was a leading architect of the state's medical marijuana and a consultant for a company that is a finalist to grow and process marijuana. That's an issue that could come before the ethics panel's meeting, though the panel would conduct those discussions in a closed portion of the meeting.

Morhaim, a Baltimore County Democrat who is a doctor, said last month he followed ethics rules and regulations. He also said he will cooperate fully with the ethics committee.
