The body of that washed up on shore in Ocean City has been identified as that of 25 year old Michael West from Temple Hills, Maryland.

An autopsy is still pending.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that West had been reported missing in Prince George’s County according to an Ocean City official.

But they added that the resort officials were unaware of that.

His body was found in the ocean on Tuesday at around 4:20 p.m. near 127 Street by a local citizen who said they had seen something floating offshore.

Authorities say the body shows signs of being in the water for some time.
