OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say they're investigating the death of a man after he was arrested on drug charges by Ocean City police.

Police say in a statement that 37-year-old Jerry Weston of Greenwood, Delaware, was pronounced dead at a hospital early Sunday morning.

Weston had been taken to the hospital from the city police booking facility. State police say he told medical workers he had ingested cocaine.

Ocean City police say in a statement that they called for an ambulance after Weston complained of breathing difficulty. They say Weston had a seizure and went into cardiac arrest as the ambulance arrived.

Police say an autopsy will determine the cause and manner of Weston's death.

Ocean City police spokeswoman Lindsay Richard says Weston was black, and the arresting officer was white.
