OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - Ocean City police have charged a Sparrows Point resident in the death of a man after a fight at the resort.
The department said in a news release that detectives charged 21-year-old Darren Beattie with manslaughter in the death of 31-year-old Ryan Shupert of Baltimore County. Police say Beattie turned himself Tuesday morning.
Investigators say early on May 29, Shupert and a friend were involved in a fight with four other men. Shupert was injured, and died on May 31 at a local hospital.
It could not be determined if Beattie has a lawyer.
