LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) - Passengers have a new way to pass the time at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport: they can learn about CPR in about five minutes at an interactive kiosk.
The airport said in a news release Monday that the kiosk at Gate B7 has a touch screen and a practice manikin. A video shows how to perform hands-only CPR. Then, there's a practice session and a test. The kiosk gives feedback about the depth and rate of chest compressions and hand placement.
The airport says the education can help "users understand how they can immediately help a person who experiences a cardiac emergency outside of a hospital."
There are four other such kiosks around the country.
The BWI kiosk is being introduced during National CPR & AED Awareness Week.
