Stop Lights Set for Dangerous Sixty Foot Intersection

creative commons

Two stop lights could be coming to the Sixty Foot Road where it crosses Route 50.

It’s been the site of a number of severe accidents – one taking the life of a prominent attorney Sam Vincent who had planned to run for Wicomico County State’s Attorney six years ago.

WBOC reports that the plan by the State Highway Administration was revealed during a public meeting yesterday and found many residents supported the idea.

The television station reports that the fire department officials in Pittsville said that cars trying to cross the intersection at Route 50 to get to the town caused most of the accidents.

State officials say they hope to have the lights installed by next year.
