Former New Castle County Administrative Officer David Grimaldi has filed a lawsuit over online posts that he says defames his reputation.

Grimaldi wants a judge to require social media websites to cough up the name of the person responsible for the posts.

He was fired by New Castle County Executive Tom Gordon after an incident involving Grimaldi allegedly trying to use his position after a traffic stop.

Grimaldi denies the allegations and has filed a lawsuit against Gordon.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that there have been posts attacking the character of both men that included ethical and legal issues.

News Journal says that a video post was cited in the lawsuit along with a 15-hundred word essay that showed up on the Facebook page of Gordon’s daughter Jennifer.

The paper says that no one takes credit for the video.

The News Journal says that neither Jennifer nor Gordon returned phone calls and Grimaldi declined to comment.
