ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is scheduled to sign a bill that's named in honor of the two Harford County sheriff's deputies who were fatally shot in the line of duty in February.
The bill to be signed Monday would raise the age from 18 to 26 for a surviving child to whom a line-of-duty death benefit can be paid. The bill is named in honor of Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon.
The governor also is scheduled to sign a bill to set a new 40 percent greenhouse gas reduction target for 2030. It builds on a 2009 state law, which required Maryland to reduce emissions 25 percent by 2020 from 2006 levels.
Hogan also is set to sign a measure to restore funding to the state's open land preservation program.
