Deadline Approaches for Voter Registration in Maryland Primary

Don Rush

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The deadline to register to vote in Maryland is next week for the state's primary next month.

The Maryland State Board of Elections on Wednesday noted the upcoming deadlines.

The deadline is Tuesday to register to vote, change party affiliation, update an address and request an alternate polling place.

To vote in the April 26 primary, state residents who are eligible to vote but are not yet registered must do so by 9 p.m. Tuesday. That includes 17-year-olds who will be 18 or older on or before the Nov. 8 General Election.

Paper voter registration applications must be hand-delivered or mailed to the voter's local board of elections. A mailed application must be postmarked by Tuesday.

Residents with a Maryland driver's license or MVA-issued ID can register online at https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineVoterRegistration.
