Fired Pocomoke Police Chief Joins Baltimore State's Attorney's Office

BALTIMORE (AP) - A retired Baltimore homicide detective who sued the town where he was fired as a police chief is joining the Baltimore state's attorney's office as an investigator.

The Baltimore Sun reports  that according to city documents, 53-year-old Kelvin Sewell will work as a contract employee investigating felony, homicide and violent crime cases, among other duties.

Sewell spent more than 20 years with the Baltimore Police Department, retiring in 2010. He joined the Pocomoke City Police Department, and the next year was promoted to chief.
