DOSWELL, Va. (AP) - A descendant of Secretariat will make an appearance at the second annual Virginia Horse Festival.

Organizers of the event say Groundshaker, the great-great-granddaughter of the legendary racehorse, will be on hand for a birthday celebration for Secretariat.

The festival is set for April 1-3 at Secretariat's birthplace, the Meadow Event Park in Caroline County.

The festival will include a competition among eight trainers, a parade featuring various breeds of horses, a paddock party and more than 100 clinics, demonstrations and seminars.
