Delaware Lawmakers Consider Cracking Down on Telemarketers

creative commons

Delaware lawmakers are looking at giving state regulators more power over telemarketers.

The measure would give the Delaware Consumer Protection Bureau the ability to revoke or deny such companies access to the First State.

WBOC reports that the measure would give state officials to consider whether the companies had broken any laws or regulations.

The Federal Trade Commission does have a ‘do not call’ list which requires companies to remove someone name from their databases.

The state Attorney General’s office notes that does not apply to political campaigns.

The bill is expected to come up for a vote in the state House of Representatives today.
