LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - A candlelight vigil and moment of silence took place in honor of a narcotics officer killed a week ago in a shootout at a Maryland police station.

The Prince George's County Police Department said it held the vigil and moment of silence Sunday to honor 28-year-old Detective Jacai Colson. Colson was killed by one of his fellow officers after a man began firing outside the department's Landover police station. The county's police chief has said Colson, who was in plainclothes, was mistaken as a threat.

Colson's funeral is scheduled for next week.
