Psychiatric Hospital in Sussex County Delays Opening

A new psychiatric hospital in Sussex County has delayed its opening planned for the summer of next year.

Sun Behavioral Health got the okay to construct a facility in Georgetown off Route 18.

There would be around 90 beds.

But the company president and CEO Steve Page told WBOC that the facility is not expected to be open until 2018.

The problem, he told the station, is an appeal the company’s parent company, UHS, filed with the Delaware Superior court.
