RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia's General Assembly has shown strong support for letting a small number of facilities grow and dispense medical marijuana oil.
The state Senate voted Tuesday to approve legislation that would allow these facilities to grow plants to produce cannabidiol oil for registered epilepsy patients.
The Daily Press reports the legislation will need to be approved again next year by the General Assembly before it goes into law.
Last year the General Assembly voted to allow marijuana oils to be used to treat epileptic seizures.
