BALTIMORE (AP) - Officials are considering outfitting Baltimore City school police with body cameras. The Baltimore Sun reports that Karl Perry, who oversees the school police, said Saturday that Superintendent Gregory Thornton has asked him to look into the issue.

Perry said the request came before cellphone video released last week showed a public school police officer slapping and kicking a teen at a school. During a community forum on juvenile justice in Baltimore, Perry and acting School Police Chief Akil Hamm condemned the officer's actions.

The police officer, who identified as 44-year-old Anthony C. Spence, another officer seen in the video and the department's chief have been placed on administrative leave.
