Group Protests Proposed Middletown Power Plant

submitted

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - Concerned residents of Middletown are gathering in the town square to raise awareness about a proposed power plant.

Residents planned to gather Monday to express opposition to the proposed facility at the Middletown Technology Center.

Organizers say that while many questions and concerns have been presented at town council meetings, they haven't gotten answers from Mayor Ken Branner and council members.

They also say that a petition with more than 500 signatures from town residents asking for a public information meeting with the mayor and council has been ignored.
