Non-Hunters Could See Fees at Delaware Wildlife Areas

For non-hunters who want to visit wildlife areas in Delaware they could encounter a $20 fee.

The state Fish and Wildlife agency wants to look at the idea for some extra cash.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Delaware like many other states has seen a decline the number of hunters.

The agency says the money is needed as it faced a $311-thousand shortfall last year in license fees.

The paper reports that the agency gets 50 to 75 percent of its funding from hunting and trapping fees.
