DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are urging drivers to watch out for deer, especially at dawn and dusk.

Troopers said in a news release that the department has investigated 125 animal-related crashed in the past 30 days. Many of these crashes occurred along the main corridors of SR 1, U.S. Route 13 north of Smyrna to Odessa and U.S. Route 13 from Woodside south to Farmington.

Deer are more active due to their annual mating season rut in the late fall, with bucks chasing doe through fields, marshes and woods.
