Kendel Ehrlich Sworn In as Assistant State's Attorney

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Former Maryland first lady Kendel Ehrlich is being sworn in as an assistant state's attorney in Anne Arundel County.

Ehrlich will be sworn in on Thursday in Annapolis by State's Attorney Wes Adams.

She is being assigned to the county prosecutor's drug court team. Drug court aims to help drug users in a supervised program that lasts between 12 and 18 months.

Ehrlich has worked as a public defender in the county. She also has been an assistant state's attorney in Harford County.

She is the wife of former Gov. Robert Ehrlich, a Republican who was governor from 2003 to 2007.
