Audits of two charter schools in Delaware have found they have not been following the rules.
That’s the conclusion by state officials.
State officials found that $23-thousand in reimbursements could not be justified for the president and executive director of the Delaware College Preparatory Academy.
Meanwhile, the Wilmington News Journal also reports that Kuumba Academy took a hit for contact payments on top of salaries to several of its employees including the head of the school.
State Auditor Tom Wagner said that while charter schools do get more flexibility they don’t get to “do anything you want.”
