CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) - A film festival in Cumberland is opening with a focus on Appalachia.
The Queen City Film Festival opens Thursday for a four-day run.
Thursday's program includes films and a panel discussion devoted to Appalachian topics. They include the feature film, "A Lesson of Love," shot in Frostburg, about a professor from Los Angeles recruited to teach at a small-town college.
On Friday, the program shifts to films about lesbian, gay, bisexual or transsexual issues. Later Friday night, the festival presents a block of horror and science-fiction films.
Family films and documentaries round out the weekend.
