ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Gov. Larry Hogan and other Maryland officials will receive family members of former Gov. Marvin Mandel at the Maryland State House.
Mandel, who died Sunday, will lie in repose at the capitol for a public viewing from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Annapolis.
The viewing is open to the public.
Mandel was 95.
His funeral is scheduled for Thursday at Sol Levinson & Bros. Funeral Home in Pikesville.
Mandel is widely viewed as an innovator who reorganized state government to be more efficient. His political legacy was clouded by his 1977 conviction on mail fraud charges for selling the powers of his office, though his sentence was commuted after serving 19 months in federal prison. The conviction was overturned.
