WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - The Widener University School of Law has announced that, under a re-branding effort, it will now be called the Delaware Law School.

WDEL-FM reports the university in Wilmington announced the change Wednesday. The school also has a new dean.

Dean Rod Smolla says he's ready to being a new chapter at the Delaware Law School. He previously served as the president of Furman University in South Carolina.

Widener also has a law school in Pennsylvania.

The Bar Association approved plans earlier this year to separate and accredit the campuses.
