Two Hit in Shooting near New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - Police say two men have been shot near New Castle.

The Wilmington News Journal reports the shooting occurred shortly before 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Jefferson Farms neighborhood. Authorities say one victim was shot in the upper and lower extremities, while the second victim was shot in the lower extremity. Both were listed in stable condition at Christiana Hospital.

Police say both victims were taken to Christiana Hospital by a private vehicle.

Officers met the victims as they arrived at the hospital, while others responded to the scene of the shooting, which occurred in the street.

Detectives have not determined whether one or more shooters were involved.

The suspect or suspects were reportedly driving a motor vehicle but officers were not able to locate the vehicle.
