Television viewers in Talbot, Queen Anne’s and Kent counties in Maryland will not be getting WBOC from Atlantic Broadband anymore.

The channel says it does not need three CBS affiliates.

The announcement got a sharp response from the station’s general manager Craig Jahelka who said it was clear that Atlantic Broadband does not “care about their customers who live here on Delmarva.”

WBOC noted that the station is the only CBS affiliate that provides local coverage that ranges from local news and weather to school closings local sports and other programming.

Atlantic Broadband has around 12,500 subscribers in Talbot, Queen Anne’s and Kent counties.

They will now only get CBS affiliates from Baltimore and Washington D.C.
