NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is being asked to testify in the appeal by Ray Rice of the former Ravens football player's indefinite suspension from the NFL for domestic violence.
The Associated Press reports that is according to a person familiar with the case.
The arbiter in the case former, U.S. District Judge Barbara Jones, told both parties of her decision yesterday.
Since this is not a criminal case it is not certain if Goodell will comply with the request.
NFL attorneys have argued that Goodell should not have to testify but were offering testimony from Jeff Pash, the NFL’s general counsel and Adolpho Birch, the NFL’s vice president for labor policy.
