The Board of Trustees for the Delaware Technical and Community College will consider whether to offer the job of president to vice president Mark Brainard.
A meeting is set for Monday where the trustees will hold their final vote after Murray Ray Hoy, president of Wor-Wic College, decided not to take the job.
Hoy appeared to have accepted the position but then on July 24th abruptly decided to stay at Wor-Wic saying that the offer came before – what he said were – candidate conversations, expectations and agreement.”
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Hoy’s decision was greeted with relief at Wor-Wic.
Board Vice President Martin Neat told the paper that Hoy will under the current terms of his contract.
The outgoing president at DelTech made nearly $470-thousand in the last school year while Hoy made $221-thousand during the same period in his position.
