Heavy "Dew Tour" Traffic Expected on Chesapeake Bay Bridge

Maryland Transportation Authority

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland transportation officials say drivers should expect more traffic than normal this weekend on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Officials say the Dew Tour skateboarding event is drawing thousands of people to Ocean City from Thursday through Sunday.

The Maryland Transportation Authority says it will implement two-way traffic operations, weather permitting, to help alleviate delays. The agency also encourages drivers to travel at off-peak hours.

The agency says the best times to travel to the Eastern Shore are Thursday and Friday before 10 a.m. or after 10 p.m. On Saturday, the best time to drive is before 7 a.m. or after 5 p.m. And on Sunday, the best time to drive is before 10 a.m. and after 10 p.m.
