Plane Lands In Somerset County After Running Out of Fuel

A plane coming from West Port, Virginia heading to the Salisbury Regional Airport was forced to land in a field in Princess Anne.

Maryland State Police say they responded to an area in the 31-thousand block of West Post Office Road.

Authorities say the aircraft ran into strong head winds over the Bay Bridge Tunnel that caused the pilot, Randoph Beauchamp of Berlin, to use too much fuel…putting him 10 miles from the airport when he ran out.

Beauchamp was not injured and there was no damage to the aircraft.

Princess Anne fire Chief Kenny Walsten told WBOC that the plane will remain in the field until today when it can refuel and take off again.
