New OC Beach Patrol Facility Approved by City Council

The Ocean City town council has approved a $2 million three story facility to house the resort’s Beach Patrol.

It is expected to be in operation by May of next year.

The final design raises the structure to protect it from flooding and widens the sidewalk along Talbot Street.

In addition, there will be a larger work space for police officers.

The exterior has been inspired by historic Ocean City buildings such as the Life-Saving Station Museum.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Jack Mumford, the project’s architect, said that the idea was to create a modern facility that would fit in with the downtown area.

Construction will begin no later than September 15th.
