DOVER, Del. (AP) - Flags in Delaware are flying at half-staff through Tuesday in honor of former State Rep. William Vernon Sr.

Vernon died March 10. He served in the Delaware House from 1977 to 1981 and was also a former president of the Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Delaware Gov. Jack Markell ordered flags to fly at half-staff through Tuesday, when a memorial service for Vernon is being held at New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lewes.
