Taxi Association Wants Fare Hike in Ocean City

taxi tax website

A taxi association in Ocean City wants the resort to okay a hike in the meter rate per mile from $2.20 to $3.70.

John Donohue, CEO of Nightclub Taxi Cabs, told WBOC he does not believe it is a huge jump calling it instead equal pay.

The television station reports that the cab fares in DC per mile rate is $2.16 while in Baltimore it is $2.50 and in Philadelphia it is $2.70.

But some taxi drivers hope that the proposed rate will not scare away customers.
