Mayor James Ford III says he will not seek re-election in May after leading the city of Lewes for a decade.
Ford said he was not seeking another term because of business and family reasons.
Ford has been a resident of the resort since 1976 and owns a building contracting business that specializes in historic restoration.
Ford became Mayor in 2004.
