35-hundred dove in for the 23rd annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge yesterday.

The event raises money and awareness to support Special Olympics Delaware.

Maggie McDonald along with her friend Jessica Smith raised more than $5-thousand for the event.

Smith told WBOC, “Every little bit helps.”

The temperature was 54 degrees but the water got down to a chilly 34 degrees.
