Delaware Marks World AIDS Day

Camp Rehoboth Website

Activists across Delaware marked this year’s World AIDS Day yesterday from a candlelight walk in Rehoboth Beach to church sponsored HIV testing at a church in Wilmington.

Frank Hawkins with Aids Delaware says that the City of Wilmington has the highest number of HIV/AIDS cases in the First State.

Around 150 people showed up for the candlelight walk called “A Light in the Dark” sponsored by CAMP Rehoboth, a non-profit gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender service group in Sussex county.

Glen Pruitt, a local events co-chair, told the Wilmington News Journal the gathering is to remember those who have been lost and the challenge that lie ahead.
