Beau Biden Fends Off Questions About Health

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden is still refusing to discuss details about a recent health scare that sent him to a Texas cancer center.

In an interview Monday before a state budget hearing, Biden said only that he had an operation, and that he feels "very lucky" and "very grateful."

Biden, who has a long, curving scar stretching from his left ear to the top of his head, wouldn't say whether he is taking medication, repeatedly insisting that he has a "clean bill of health."

The 44-year-old Biden, who suffered a mild stroke in 2010, said he plans to seek re-election next year. He was hospitalized in August after becoming weak and disoriented during a vacation and later underwent a procedure at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
