Ocean City Officials Hope for Widening of Route 90 Bridge

Ocean City website

Ocean City officials want Worcester County and state officials to consider widening the Route 90 Bridge.

During Hurricane Sandy the Route 50 Bridge was completely flooded leaving Route 90 the only way out of the resort.

But Council member Dennis Dare told WBOC that the bridge is not even on the table when it comes to the State Highway Administration’s list of top concerns.

Dare hopes a recent bridge failure that caught the attention of state officials will change those priorities.

He said that fortunately it occurred in the off season.

It is not clear what the price tag would be for improving the Route 90 bridge.
