Wallops Flight Facility Sends Nearly 30 Small Satellites Into Orbit

nasa.gov

At Wallops Flight Facility a Minotaur rocket lifted off the launch pad last night carrying 29 tiny satellites into space.

13 of them were built by college and high school students from across the country.

Ian Maloney and his classmates at the Naval Academy told WBOC that never in his wildest dreams did he believe he would be doing something like this.

He said that the satellite is to provide students at the Naval Academy with telemetry.
