Delawareans will get their first taste from Painted Stave Distillery on November 8th.
It’s the only distillery in the First State and will be open Friday through Sunday for tours, tasting and sales.
One of the owners Michael Rasmussen told WBOC that the company produces handmade craft spirits on site.
For Rasmussen and his partner Ron Gomes it’s a dream come true.
They came to Smyrna two years ago touring the building and getting people interested in the project.
Officials say they hope the distillery will attract more people to the town.
The distillery officially opens in January.
