HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - State prison officials say inmates at the Maryland Correctional Institution near Hagerstown are preparing 300 turkeys for an annual Thanksgiving charity dinner in Baltimore.

A spokesman says the turkeys arriving at the prison Thursday will be cooked at the Maryland Correctional Enterprises Meat Plant.

Theyll be eaten at the Bea Gaddy Family Center's Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 28.

Prison officials say the plant near Hagerstown produces 1.5 million pounds of meat products annually for state and county agencies and non-profits. It employs about 77 inmates.
