Kristen Loetz fought back after her ex-boyfriend Ryan Shallue after he shot her friend Charles C-J Abbott in an apartment on Onley Road just off the Salisbury University Campus earlier this year.
She told the Salisbury Daily Times that once Shallue pulled a gun Loetz and Abbott screamed “gun”.
Her friend then tried to get it away from him but Abbott was shot and killed.
She told the Daily Times that he was able to fight Shallue for the gun when he was changing the magazine.
Ultimately he shot her twice, once in the leg with a second bullet going into her neck and out her back shoulder.
She then waited and Shallue ultimately turned the gun on himself.
She is spending the rest of this semester at home in Stevensville and then return to Salisbury University for the spring semester in January.
