State Senator Richard Colburn is going for a six term to represent the mid-Shore 37th District in the Maryland General Assembly.
In making the announcement the longtime Republican says he wants to be a voice for Eastern Shore farmers who he said are facing tougher regulations and the threat of lawsuits.
Colburn also said that as the son of a waterman he also hopes to keep new regulations at bay.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that his voting record in the General Assembly range from no votes on firearms restriction and a wind farm in Ocean City…to opposing the repeal of the death penalty, same-sex marriage and in-state tuition for undocumented immigrants.
Colburn is also the town manager for Federalsburg and lives in Cambridge.
Cheryl Everman is the only other candidate in the race.
