James Welsh, a Salisbury University English professor for more than 30 years, has died at the age of 75.
His death occurred on October 3rd after a yearlong battle with cancer.
He was known as a generous person and a good listener.
Donald Whaley, SU professor emeritus of history, told the Salisbury Daily Times that Welsh often helped people get ahead in their writing careers by publishing their first works in the academic journal “Literature/Film Quarterly.”
The two worked together to write the “The Oliver Stone Encyclopedia” after Whaley’s retirement four years ago.
A memorial service will be held on October 17th.
